This test must be carried out between 07:00 – 11:00am.

If your cycle is regular and approx. 28 days duration, the blood sample must be drawn between days 19-21. If you have no pattern/irregular cycles, then the sample may be taken between days 3-5 of menstruation. If it has been >12 months since your last menstrual period, the blood sample can be taken at any time as long as the date of last menstruation is provided to Healand Clinic. If you are taking Vitamin B7 supplements sometimes known as Biotin or Vitamin H – this must cease for 48 hours minimum before sample is taken as this supplement can cause skewed thyroid panel results. You must also inform Healand of any other medications you are taking including both oral and indwelling birth control.
