Healand Clinician talking with patient during a consultation

Before we book you in for any treatments at Healand Clinic, we will take you through a full consultation.

This process, conducted in person, or on video, with one of our expert team members is designed to ensure you get the right treatment for you, and that any questions you may have are answered in full before the process begins.

Book a consultation with us using the button below, or pop into the clinic for a chat during our opening hours.

To do this, simply email your most recent blood results to us. (Are will also require your blood test results confirming low testosterone when you were first diagnosed and a summary of your background and TRT you have administered until now.

When you come to your first appointment at Healand Clinic, please bring hard copies of your original diagnostic blood test results and any medical correspondence (letters, emails etc) confirming your original diagnosis. We will also need comprehensive blood test results not more than three months old, that detail all of the parameters outlined in Healand's ‘TRT Comprehensive’ blood test panel.

If you do not have the requisite blood test results, we can complete these in advance of your appointment, or perform new blood tests at Healand Clinic during your appointment.

At your appointment, we will review your medical and social history, perform a physical examination (including a digital rectal examination for any patients aged 50 years and over that haven’t had this completed in the last 12 months). A testicular exam will also be carried out, along with measurement of your vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate etc). We will have a conversation regarding testosterone deficiency, the treatment options we can offer, patient expectations of treatment outcomes and potential timeline to hormonal stability.

There is no need to fully stop the treatment you are currently on before attending your appointment at Healand Clinic. Please talk to us prior to your appointment for a full breakdown of what to do regarding timing of blood tests, depending on what medication(s) you are on.

Once you have given consent, the Healand clinician will demonstrate safe preparation of your medications and, if applicable show you how to inject safely with Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT).

The Evolt 360 Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) scanner is available for use after your appointment to enable us to understand your body composition baseline. This scanner has near equivalency to what is considered the gold standard of body composition scanning, which is called DEXA. The scan results will provide insight into your current physiological health status. We will then be able to use this information to track your progression and set goals for your treatment journey with Healand. You will have free access to the Evolt+ app on your smartphone which stores your scans and gives recommendations on exercise, supplementation and nutrition based on your personal goals.  A repeat scan will take place each year at your annual follow up in clinic.

You will leave the clinic with a three-month supply of insulin syringes, all medications, alcohol skin preparation swabs and sharps bins.  It is well understood by the team at Healand that the commencement of Testosterone Replacement Therapy can be stressful with a lot of information to take in. A follow up email containing instructional videos and copies of paperwork will be sent following your appointment.
