PRP (PLATELET RICH PLASMA)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment involves the injection of the patient’s own blood, enriched with platelets, fibrin and stem cells, to help promote skin regeneration and/or hair growth.

PRP treatment is used to boost collagen production in the skin, which improves its elasticity and overall complexion. It can also be used to treat hair loss, as the platelet-enriched blood stimulates the follicles, promoting new hair growth.

FAQs

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK?

Receiving PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment at Healand Clinic begins with a comprehensive consultation process. This initial step is vital to ensure that PRP is a suitable option for you.

During the consultation, a detailed medical history will be taken. This is an important aspect of the process, as it helps the practitioners at Healand Clinic understand your overall health, and any underlying conditions and determine whether PRP therapy is safe and effective for you.

Moreover, the consultation includes an assessment to devise a personalized treatment plan. This plan is tailored to your unique requirements, focusing on areas of concern and the desired outcomes that align with your goals.

Before beginning the actual PRP sessions, you'll also undergo a patch test. This test is a precautionary measure to check for any adverse reactions to the treatment. It's a standard procedure to ensure patient safety. The PRP treatment sessions themselves typically last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. The duration largely depends on the area being treated and the extent of the treatment required.

WHO COULD BENEFIT FROM I-PRF?

PRP is safe for both male and female patients. Patients range in age from their late 20s to late 70s.

More than one session may be needed, spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart. The results of your treatment should last between six and 12 months.

A possible side-effect of treatment may be an infection at the site of the injection. However your Healand clinician will discuss this with you during your consultation, and prior to any treatment taking place.
